The Stinking Bishops is a newly opened cheesemonger-slash-cheese-and-wine-bar with all the delicious things which I desperately needed after nine long months of pregnancy: cheese, wine, cured meats, and coffee.

Did I mention cheese? Continue reading →

Jack and the Beanstalk on UrbanspoonThis cute new cafe has just opened up on Marrickville Road where Fernandes Patisserie used to be, right near our other old favourite Minh Vietnamese Restaurant. (Fernandes is now round the corner on New Canterbury Rd.) We’ve been there twice and have been really impressed. The coffee is excellent, the staff are delightful, and – the food is good too! Trifecta!

  • Cornersmith, Marrickville

    Featured

Cornersmith on UrbanspoonI recently said that Enmore is the new Newtown. It turns out, I was wrong… Marrickville is!

Relatively new to Marrickville is Cornersmith, which epitomises all the lovely aspects of the inner west cafe culture. They make their own sauces, cordial, jams, pickles, conserves, etc. using local produce sourced from friends and the general public. And honey from their own bees! Continue reading →

Cafe Dal'or on UrbanspoonThis cafe right near Dulwich Hill station has the friendliest staff we’ve ever met. Mr Black and I spent a very enjoyable late morning brunch/lunch here, drinking smooth coffee and basking in the late summer sun of the quaint little courtyard out the back. Continue reading →
